Well, I received an email over the weekend that my Cherry Porter and Pumpkin Ale were nowhere to be seen as entries were being collected for judging. I mailed them out back on Mar. 7 via FedEx. I guess it might be my fault that I didn’t check the tracking, but FedEx damaged my package in transit, didn’t deliver it nor did they notify me of the situation. F them in the A.
But there is a little bit of a silver lining. I got on the horn with FedEx, filed a claim and will be reimbursed. Plus, the kind folks at the AHA let me send my bottles in again. The bad part about this is that I don’t have any more Cherry Porter on hand, so that’s a lost entry. But luckily I have more bottles of my Pumpkin Ale and sent that in.
I doubt either will be winning any honors, but I really just wanted the feedback so I can improve as a brewer. 1 for 2 is better than nothing. Can guarantee I won’t be using FedEx again and will keep a much tighter eye on that “Delivered” status.
