All American Pale – 5 Gallons

American Pale Ale

9.5 lb Pale Ale Malt
.5 lb Crystal 40°L
.5 lb Victory Malt
.25oz Columbus hops (50 mins)
.25oz Centennial hops (40 mins)
.75oz Cascade hops (30 mins)
.75oz Cascade hops (15 mins)
1 tsp. Irish Moss (15 mins)
.5oz Amarillo hops (5 mins)
Wyeast 1056 – American Ale

 

 

Mash at 149-154° F (Thicker mash, about 1 qt water/lb grain)
Sparge at 170° F
Boil for 60 mins adding hops and Irish Moss as directed above.
Cool and transfer to primary.
Primary until fermentation complete.
Secondary for 9 days.
Bottle and condition.
